(BPT) – Each day in the United States, 43 children are diagnosed with cancer. In fact, it’s the number one cause of death by disease in children in this country. With major treatment advances, more than 85% of children diagnosed with cancer survive five years or more. This is a huge improvement from the mid-1970s, when the 5-year survival rate was about 58%.
Since 1998, Hyundai Hope On Wheels has been a major contributor to the funding of research and program grants. With this year’s record-breaking $25 million contribution to celebrate its 25th anniversary, they will surpass $225 million donated over the lifetime of the organization.
