Just off College Avenue sits a modest and adorable ice cream shop. Spill The Beans, also known as Andee’s Custom Blended Ice Cream, is known for its array of ice cream flavors and coffee. 

The store, open seven days a week, is a hot spot for college students looking to fulfill their sweet tooth. With plenty of seating, it is a perfect place to sit back and enjoy a waffle cone or hot latte.

Their ice cream is made with a base flavor of chocolate or vanilla and dozens of mix-in options to make your cone your own. With one mix-in included and each additional a mere 75 cents, the ice cream is incredibly affordable.

They have various dairy-free and vegan options. They also serve smoothies, milkshakes, sundaes, kid’s cups and even a dog-safe option for a man’s best friend. 

Open from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m, Spill The Beans remains an incredibly convenient and enjoyable place for people to grab an after-class sweet or a late-night pick me up. 

Andee O’Sell, the owner since 2016, says that her favorite part of owning Spill The Beans is “meeting students, community members, visiting tourists, and of course, football season crowds!”

Andee recommends their Key Lime Pie ice cream, vanilla with cheesecake and lemon or their most popular Half Baked, which is a vanilla and chocolate swirl with brownie bits and cookie dough mixed in.

The shop is mostly staffed by Clemson students who keep the shop lively and welcoming. Andee says her staff is able to “have a good time on busy nights and crank out the best custom blended ice creams.”

The atmosphere is truly unique and a staple of downtown Clemson. As its slogan may suggest, Spill The Beans remains one of Clemson’s best-kept secrets.
