Designed by Clemson Home Nutrition and Dining Services, a new incentive program designed to get students involved with Clemson Dining and learn about available nutrition resources has been recently put in place with weekly events that students can attend.
If students sign in and RSVP with the Nutrition and Wellness team at three Eat Well events and complete the nutrition task list by Dec. 3, they will receive 50 Paw Points to use for the spring semester.
The program Designed by Clemson Home Dining’s Registered Dietitian, Shannon Greene, consists of five wellness workshops where students first learn about the process and nutrition checklist that they need to complete before the deadline. The first two workshops are general information sessions and courses on nutrition facts. The remaining sessions focus on balanced diets and choosing healthier options on-campus.
Not only will students receive 50 Paw Points, but they will also have a chance to schedule a free online meeting with a nutrition advisor and design a unique nutrition plan to eat well on campus at dining halls and at home.
“I went to my first nutrition and wellness event last week, and it was really interesting talking to the nutrition intern staff about how I can eat better and maintain a healthier lifestyle,” said freshman physics major Josh Denison. The first event was really easy and did not take too much time out of my day, so I can easily complete all of the actions needed.”
To receive and complete the nutrition checklist that includes ways to eat and choose healthier options, students must visit one of the Eat Well events to talk about their nutrition goals and plans for the rest of the semester.
The schedule for the rest of the semester includes the following dates, locations and times for sign-ups with the Clemson Home nutrition team:
-Sept. 29: Schilletter Dining Hall (11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.)
– Oct. 13: McAllister Dining Hall (11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.)
