FOOTBALL
What has happened: Clemson used a stifling defense and a steady offense to defeat Boston College, 27-7 on Saturday night in Chestnut Hill. BC running back A.J. Dillon was held to 39 yards rushing. Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence was efficient, throwing for 295 yards with one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown.
The Tigers have punched their ticket to Charlotte for the fourth straight year, most likely taking on Pitt on Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. inside Bank of America Stadium.
Coming up: Clemson will host Duke on Saturday in the first home night game of the season on Military Appreciation Day. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
VOLLEYBALL
What has happened: Clemson hit the road to Charlottesville to face Virginia and swept the Cavaliers in three sets. Soleli Thomas and Brooke Bailey continue their strong seasons, as the duo combined for 25 kills in the win.
Coming up: Clemson will host Wake Forest on Friday at 7 p.m.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
What has happened: Clemson fell to Ole Miss 2-1 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday night. Miranda Weslake tied the game in the early stages of the second half, but Ole Miss’s Grace Johnson scored the winning goal.
Eddie Radwanski and the Lady Tigers’ season will end with a 12-9 overall record and 6-4 in ACC play.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
What has happened: Clemson defeated The Citadel in the 2018 season opener in Littlejohn, 100-80. Clemson’s 100 points against the Bulldogs was the first time they have accomplished that feat since 2009, when the Tigers defeated Winthrop. Marcquise Reed scored 20 in the win.
Clemson also defeated North Carolina Central on Friday night, 71-51, in a game where the Tigers only allowed 20 points in the first half, the second fewest allowed since the Auburn game in the NCAA Tournament back in the spring. Clemson starts out the season 2-0.
Coming up: Clemson will take on Sam Houston State on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Littlejohn Coliseum.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
What has happened: The Amanda Butler era officially kicked off on Thursday with a 85-77 win against Wofford. Kobi Thornton scored a career high in points with 25 in the victory. Danielle Edwards was second on the team with 15. Clemson blasted Lipscomb on Sunday, 68-26. Thornton also led the team in scoring with 18. The Tigers held Lipscomb to 26 points, which tied a program record for fewest points allowed.
Coming up: Clemson will head to Columbia to face South Carolina on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
