What has happened: Clemson blasted Wake Forest in a 63-3 rout as the Tigers ran for 471 yards, which ranked fourth best in school history. Trevor Lawrence returned from a neck injury suffered last week and threw for 175 yards and two touchdowns. Clemson’s defense held Wake Forest’s fast-paced offense to 249 yards and registered 12 tackles for loss. The win improves Clemson’s record to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in ACC play.
Coming up: Clemson will be off this weekend before hosting the NC State Wolfpack on Oct. 20.
VOLLEYBALL
What has happened: Clemson picked up their first win ACC play on Sunday, sweeping Virginia Tech Hokies in three sets. Brooke Bailey had 12 kills in the winning effort. The Tigers also fell to Georgia Tech in five sets on Friday — Bailey tied a career high with 16 kills in the losing effort.
Clemson’s record currently sits at 10-9 overall and 1-5 in ACC play.
Coming up: Clemson will head to Durham to take on Duke on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
MEN’S SOCCER
What has happened: Mike Noonan’s split the week with a win and a loss. The Tigers defeated the College of Charleston, 3-1 on Tuesday aided by two goals from Adrian Nunez and one goal from Andrew Burnikel to secure the win.
On Friday, the Tigers fell in double overtime as Edward Kizza hit the game winning goal in the 101st minute. Quinn McNeil got the Tigers on the board in the 37th minute.
Clemson’s record currently stands at 5-5-1 overall and 0-4 in ACC play.
Coming up: Clemson will seek their first ACC win of the season against Virginia at Historic Riggs Field on Friday at 7 p.m.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
What has happened: Clemson defeated nationally ranked Florida State in Tallahassee on Thursday by a score of 1-0. Miranda Westlake scored the game-winning goal in the 20th minute.
This past Sunday, Clemson blanked Pittsburgh with an outstanding offensive performance, beating the Panthers 2-0. Dani Antieau scored her first goals of the season, the first coming in the 28th minute, and then again in the 71st minute.
Clemson sits at 9-5 overall and 4-2 in ACC play.
Coming up: Clemson will face Duke at home on Senior Day at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
