It’s going to cost more to attend Clemson University this school year.
The university’s board of trustees approved a 1.75 percent ($129 per semester) increase for in-state students and a 3 percent increase ($535 per semester) for out-of-state students during its meeting on Friday. The increase brings the cost of tuition to $7,485 a semester for in-state students and $18,362 for out-of-state students.
The board also approved increases for on-campus housing and meal plan rates.
The tuition and fee increases are estimated to generate an extra $20 million in revenue for the university this year, according to Clemson officials.
This year’s increase is lower than the last one. Last year, Clemson increased tuition 2.75 percent for in-state students and 4.25 percent for out-of-state students.
