Planned construction along Calhoun Dr. and Hwy 93 in Clemson will mean road closures and detours this spring.
Clemson University Facilities officials say that Calhoun Dr. will see numerous closures between Jan. – March 2018 as work is done to allow chilled water piping to be connected to the thermal distribution system planned for Hwy 93. The work will affect the stretch of Calhoun Dr. between Hwy 93 and Olin Hall.
Below is a timeline of the upcoming road closures for Calhoun Dr.:

Jan. 6-7 – Closure of intersection of Calhoun Dr. and Hwy 93

Jan. 6-16 – Calhoun Dr. closed from Tillman Hall to the intersection with Hwy 93

Jan. 13-15 – Parking near the west side of Sikes Hall will be closed

Jan. 17 – Feb. 9 – Calhoun Dr. closed from Tillman Hall to the intersection with Fort Hill St.

Feb. 3-4 – Closure of intersection of Calhoun Dr. and Fort Hill St.

Feb. 12 – March 2 – Calhoun Dr. closed from Fort Hill St. intersection to Olin Hall

Hwy 93 will also see closures between Feb. 2018 – Jan. 2019. The work will take place in phases and will affect the section of Hwy 93 between Centennial Blvd and Cherry Rd.
Additional details regarding the Hwy 93 closures will be released soon.
Officials say the closures are needed so that work can be done to upgrade electrical, telecommunication and utility systems along Hwy 93 for Douthit Hills and the new College of Business.
