FOOTBALL
What has happened: Clemson won their fourth consecutive ACC Championship title over Pittsburgh, 42-10 as Travis Etienne scored a touchdown on the first play of the game and the defense held the Panthers to just eight yards passing, bouncing back from the South Carolina game.
Coming up: Clemson will take on Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff Semifinal on Saturday, Dec. 29. The game will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas with a 4 p.m. kickoff.
VOLLEYBALL
What has happened: Clemson kicked off the first round of the NVIC Tournament Thursday night with a sweep of Alabama A&M in their first postseason win since 2008. Outside hitter Brooke Bailey led the team with 11 kills. The Tigers advanced to play Radford on Friday, winning in four sets as Bailey and outside and right outside hitter Solei Thomas combined for 37 kills.
Clemson improves their record 19-14 overall.
Coming up: Clemson will host the College of Charleston on Thursday night in the third round of the tournament at 7 p.m. in Jervey Gym. The winner will move on to play either Tulane or Valparaiso in the Semifinal round.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
What has happened: Clemson lost their only game of the week in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, falling to Nebraska, 68-66 on Monday. Clemson cut the Husker lead to two2 points in the final seconds, but the run fell short. Elijah Thomas led the Tigers with 16 points, while Marcquise Reed came up with 15 points and Shelton Mitchell came up with 13.
Clemson’s record sits at 5-2 overall.
Coming up: Clemson will host Saint Peter’s on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. before heading to Newark, N.J. to play Mississippi State at the Prudential Center on Saturday at 4 p.m.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
What has happened: Amanda Butler and the Lady Tigers outlasted the Fighting Illini in overtime in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, winning 69-67 on Wednesday night in Littlejohn Coliseum. Kobi Thornton had a double-double while Tylar Bennett came up with 17 rebounds, a career-high, and 11 points.
On Sunday, the Tigers won another tight one, this time against Belmont, winning 65-62. Danielle Edwards led the team with 17 points.
Clemson sits at 5-3 overall.
Coming up: Clemson will host High Point on Wednesday at 7 p.m. before hosting Rhode Island on Saturday at 2 p.m.
