The Clemson gymnastics team is set to begin its second season in just a few months as Clemson recently announced its upcoming home schedule.
The Tigers will hold Gymnastics 102 on Dec. 6, their intrasquad meet, where they will debut their team and kick off the season.
The first official meeting the Tigers will host is on Jan. 31, where they will host Pittsburgh at Littlejohn Coliseum. The Tigers will kick off their in-conference meets with the Panthers, as they did last year. Clemson defeated Pittsburgh by 1.425 points in their previous matchup and looks to do it again with Team Two.
The Tigers will next host NC State on Feb. 14, who are one of the toughest teams the Tigers face in the ACC. The Wolfpack was undefeated in the conference last year, winning the ACC Championship and placing fourth in NCAA regionals. Clemson faced the Wolfpack twice the previous year, both home and away, and is looking to take down the top team in the ACC as the new program sets out on its second season.
With the recent conference realignment adding three new teams to the ACC, Clemson will host Stanford in their final conference matchup on Feb. 23. The Cardinal previously competed in a strong Pac-12 conference where they were 1-6 (3-12 overall). Clemson did not face Stanford in its inaugural season but is looking to close their conference matchups with a win.
Clemson will host two teams on Feb. 28, the University of New Hampshire and Texas Woman’s University. While the Tigers have never faced UNH, they did travel to Texas last season to compete in a quad meet hosted by TWU. Clemson placed second, behind Oklahoma, but defeated TWU and the University of Pennsylvania.
Clemson will host Penn State on March 14 to close their home meets. The Lions were ranked No. 15 in the final rankings last season, placing fourth in the Ann Arbor Regional. With Penn State consistently ranked throughout recent years, this may be the most challenging opponent the Tigers will face all season.
It has yet to be announced where Clemson gymnastics will travel this season, but the full schedule is expected to be released soon.
