As social media content creators become more common, we have seen many notable influencers come out of the state of South Carolina. The big question this football season is, which school did they come from, and who will they be rooting for come Saturday?
Looking at Clemson, there have been many influencers who are Tiger alumni or plan to be soon. The biggest influencers to come out of Clemson recently are Mackenzie and Braden Galloway, along with Darien Rencher. While Rencher’s wife — also named Makenzie — did not graduate from Clemson, the two girls got their claim to fame from what fans know as “The Real Housewives of Death Valley.”
The Galloways took over TikTok when they were at Clemson, and with 2.4 million followers on TikTok, Mackenzie may be the most established influencer to come out of Clemson. The Renchers have over 500,000 followers combined, and Darien also appears on Clemson Sports Network, where he interviews different Clemson players and alumni.
Ansley Minor, who also graduated from Clemson in the spring, has 1.2 million followers on TikTok. Junior cheerleader Ryan Cummings has 610,000 followers and multiple brand partnerships, such as with the popular nutrition drink Alani Nu.
The University of South Carolina has had its fair share of influencers as well. Sydney Herz is one of the more notable content creators from South Carolina, with over 1.3 million followers. Anna Heid, a former cheerleader for the Gamecocks, has 608,000 followers and is now posting lifestyle content in Charleston.
Ayman Az, another noteworthy name, is also a graduate from South Carolina who began making TikToks during the pandemic and now has 672,000 followers.
Both schools have established a strong presence on TikTok and other platforms due to the content creators showing their lives at these schools. Most of these influencers still have close ties to their school and will show their support on Saturday.
