Following the Selection Sunday show, the Clemson Tigers will be dancing in back-to-back seasons.
The Tigers picked up the No. 5 seed in the Midwest region of the NCAA Tournament bracket and will face the No. 12 McNeese State Cowboys on Thursday in the first round. The game will take place in Providence, Rhode Island, at the Amica Mutual Pavilion.
If Clemson was to win later this week, it would face the winner of Purdue and High Point on Saturday.
The Midwest region features a variety of danger for the Tigers, who have No. 1 Houston to spearhead the region and a potential Sweet 16 opponent, should the team get there. Tennessee and Kentucky also made an appearance in the region as the No. 2 and No. 3 seed, respectively, who Clemson would face were it to make another deep run.
However, the team has a tough opening opponent in the Cowboys, who are coached by Clemson alumnus, Will Wade. Wade was a graduate assistant from 2005-07 before becoming the McNeese coach in 2023. The Cowboys have made back-to-back NCAA Tournaments.
Head coach Brad Brownell and the team are coming off a historic season, one that saw the most regular season victories in program history and the most wins in ACC play. The Tigers saw their ACC Tournament hopes fade following a loss to the No. 2-seeded Louisville Cardinals on Friday night in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Tipoff will be on Thursday, the opening day of the tournament. The time has yet to be released.
