On Sunday, Dec. 4, at 4 p.m., the six ensembles which comprise Clemson Choirs are putting on their fourth annual “Sounds of the Season” holiday concert, a wintery delight to the campus and surrounding community.
The six ensembles: Cantorei, Clemson University Singers, Men’s Choir, Women’s Choir, Tigeroar and TakeNote, will each perform selections of classic holiday music, accompanied by a festival orchestra.
In addition to the ensemble numbers, selected student and faculty soloists from the choirs will be featured during the performances. These performers are Madison Coli, a junior performing arts voice major, Anna-Grace Stiltner, a sophomore performing arts voice major, Haley Sharrit, a senior performing arts voice major, and Dr. Lisa Sain Odom, assistant professor of performing arts and Clemson Choirs’ vocal coach.
The “Sounds of the Season” tradition began just three holiday seasons ago in 2019 and was forced to shift to a virtual format during the 2020 pandemic. Fortunately, since its return to a live and in-person performance at Clemson University’s Brooks Center for the Performing Arts, the concert has drawn massive crowds to spread holiday spirit about the community.
Each year, the choirs have worked to expand and diversify the afternoon event. The event provides a family-friendly sing-a-long and cookies for audience members to enjoy.
This year’s concert will feature a silent auction, with all proceeds being donated to Clemson’s Paw Pantry, Clemson’s on-campus initiative to reduce food insecurity in the community.
Clemson fans will not want to miss the post-show reception, for its guest of honor is our very own Clemson Tiger!
