Knoxville, T.N., Feb. 4 – Clemson Club Swimming went to the University of Tennessee to compete in a meet with over twenty other club swim teams. This was our first meet of the semester and both Clemson men’s and women’s teams placed in the top ten. Throughout the semester, there are multiple opportunities to compete and work towards making cuts for the national meet held in April. This year, nationals will be held at The Ohio State University. Several Clemson club swimmers have already met the time requirements to compete this April at OSU. We cannot wait to see them compete with swimmers from universities across the country.
We want to invite you to come swim with us! Practice is held four days a week, Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. EST in the McHugh Natatorium in Fike recreation center. Practice is not mandatory, it is up to YOU the swimmer of how much and how hard YOU want to practice. We have swimmers who have been swimmers their whole lives, swimmers who started in high school and swimmers who started right here at Clemson, so do not feel intimidated if you are new! Club Swimming is a great way to get involved at Clemson, make new friends and exercise. Ryan Dix, Clemson Club Swimming Vice President, says he loves club swimming because “ I get to spend time with other people that love the sport and I get to travel to other colleges and compete”. We are not just friends inside the pool but also outside.
Feel free to stop by to meet the team and cheer us on in Fike Recreation Center. You can also follow us on instagram @clemsonclubswim to stay up to date with the team and direct message us if you have questions or email us at [email protected].
