What you need to know for Clemson’s Fall Crawl 2017

Self-described as “South Carolina’s largest bar crawl” on its Twitter, Fall Crawl is now in its 9th annual year. From noon until 6 p.m. on Saturday, Clemson’s 21-and-up Tigers will parade down the streets downtown, taking full advantage of this year’s deals.
But before you go out, here’s what you need to know:
Deals – According to a email sent by The J. Austin Co., the company which provided Fall Crawl’s t-shirts, the following deals will be offered:

Safety – The following numbers can be used to call for a ride home if you are intoxicated and over the legal limit to drive: 

The CATBus will be running its normal Saturday Red Route schedule. Uber and Lyft are also available within Clemson. Both apps are available in the Apple and Google Play stores.
According to the American Addiction Centers’ website, steps to avoid alcohol poisoning can include: 

  • Drink in moderation, or stick to one drink per hour.
  • Drink water after every one or two drinks.
  • Do not drink on an empty stomach.
  • Avoid drinking games or situations where there is pressure to drink too much.
  • Do not mix alcohol with other substances, including prescription medications.

Clemson has a Medical Alcohol Amnesty Policy (MAAP) in place “to facilitate access and remove barriers to students who require medical assistance in alcohol related emergencies, and to provide the opportunity for caring, non-punitive interventions in response to such incidents.” With this in mind, students who engage in underage drinking with medical issues following are advised to call 911 in any emergencies.


Other: 
While Fall Crawl will be predominately held on College Ave., the road will not be closed. Students, faculty, staff, community members, etc. should use caution when driving around the area. 
A limited amount of Fall Crawl shirts can be purchased here. NOTE: Shirts will likely not be delivered by Saturday, Oct. 21.
Here is a list of South Carolina laws regarding drugs and alcohol.
All attendees must be 21. Bouncers will be checking at noon as normal. Those who are underage and/or without an I.D. will not be allowed in.
The Tiger discourages underage drinking and encourages safe, responsible drinking.
