Governor Haley’s Proclamation

South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has issued a proclamation designating Saturday, Jan. 14 as “Clemson Tigers National Football Champions Day”.
The day will recognize the Clemson Tigers for winning the 2017 College Football Playoffs National Championship and encourages all South Carolinians to join together to congratulate the team and Head Coach Dabo Swinney.
A parade will be held on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. in downtown Clemson. A celebration will follow at 10:30 a.m. in Memorial Stadium.
On Tuesday, the governor ordered a Clemson University flag be flown over the Statehouse to honor the Tigers’ win. Governor Haley issued the following statement:
“I’m a proud Clemson alum, I’m a proud governor, and I’m a proud South Carolinian. Clemson showed their heart and humility throughout the entire season, and in an unforgettable national championship victory, they reminded us that, with faith and hard work, anything is possible. That’s what defines South Carolina.”
