It’s finally cool outside! After all that hot weather, it’s safe to assume we aren’t used to the cold outdoors. Why not warm up with a staple fall drink, apple cider! The classics are great, but it can be fun to try and change up the old with something new. Try out these twists next time you have a craving for everyone’s favorite spiced apple drink.
1. Try adding a bit of orange peel for a zesty fruit addition and a bit of a tang to complement the sweetness. A few teaspoons of orange juice will also work in a pinch.
2. If you want to go the other direction and need more sugar in your life, try caramel. The taste of this sticky sweet sauce is sure to linger after the cider has already gone down.
3. You know that gingerbread seasoning you can find in the spice section? It’s not just good for making cookies. Add a dash to your cider to make it taste like a drink and a snack all in one.
4. What about wine? Add a few tablespoons to your cider for a tasty apple sangria mix.
5. Need a caffeine boost? Elevate your cider with a chai tea bag and add a bit of milk for a rich new flavor combination.
