On Saturday, Oct. 19 at 8:30 a.m., there will be a free race open to the public. It starts at the main Issaqueena Trailhead and winds through Clemson wilderness. Runners have the option to race either a 5K or a 10K. It is funded completely by donations and all proceeds go to the Clemson Experimental Forest. In the place of admission is a “bring your own snack” policy, meaning all participants should bring some food for the finish line table.
“The 5K will be a perfect introduction to trail running while the 10K will challenge even seasoned runners,” says James Gossell, the race organizer. “It’s a fantastic way to learn more about Clemson’s Experimental Forest.” This is the 4th free trail race Gossell has hosted in the Clemson Experimental Forest.
Registration is required to race. Interested runners can register here.
