The Bi-Lo in Clemson, located at 501 Old Greenville Highway, is one of 94 “underperforming stores” that will soon be closing, the parent company for Bi-Lo announced on March 15.
Southeastern Grocers, LLC, the parent company of Bi-Lo, said in a statement that it is voluntarily filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and that the company will continue to operate its other 582 “successful stores.”
It is unknown when the Clemson location will close, but Southeastern Grocers said it is their “goal to work through our financial restructuring as quickly and efficiently as possible, and we will emerge from this process likely within the next 90 days.”
A total of 19 stores in South Carolina will close.
