What has happened: Clemson defeated Texas A&M 28-26 on a rainy Saturday night in College Station. The Tigers denied the Aggies on a potential game tying 2-point conversion that would’ve sent the game into overtime. The win improves Clemson’s record to 2-0.
Coming up: Clemson will host Georgia Southern for the first time in school history this Saturday at 3:30 in Death Valley.
VOLLEYBALL
What has happened: In the Big Orange Bash doubleheader this weekend, it was a clean sweep for coach Michaela Franklin and Clemson volleyball. The Tigers defeated both Troy and North Dakota State in three sets. Soleli Thomas was named ACC Freshman of the Week and tournament MVP. Ashtynee Alberts and Brooke Bailey were named to the all-tournament team as well.
Clemson lost to Kennesaw State in four sets on Tuesday night and defeated UAB on Friday night. The Tigers currently sit at 7-3 overall.
Coming up: Clemson will head to New Orleans, LA. for a series of three matches. The action begins on Friday against Villanova at 11 a.m., followed by Little Rock at 5:30 p.m. The Tigers will then face Tulane on Saturday at 3 p.m.
MEN’S SOCCER

What has happened: The Tigers split the week, beating Villanova on Monday by a score of 2-0 with goals from Kimarni Smith in the 15th minute and John Murphy in the 24th minute. Clemson traveled to Newton, Massachusetts on Friday to face Boston College, where they fell 3-2. Malick Mbaye scored on a penalty kick and P. Bunk-Andersen scored as well.
As of Friday’s match, Clemson sits at 3-2 overall and 0-1 in ACC play.
Coming up: Clemson will face Syracuse on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Riggs Field.
WOMEN’S SOCCER

What has happened: As with the men, the women also split the week, defeating Wofford on Sunday in Spartanburg 3-0. Courtney Jones knocked through a goal in the 18th minute, Mariana Speckmaier in the 62nd minute and Kimber Haley in the 86th minute. near the end of the game. Clemson returned to Riggs Field this past Friday to face the Mountaineers, and the Tigers fell 2-1. Miranda Weslake scored the goal.
As of Friday’s match, Clemson sits at 4-3 overall.
