Clemson’s annual First Friday Parade will take a new route this year, traveling around Memorial Stadium rather than down Highway 93.

There’s a new route for the First Friday Parade this year, which is on Aug. 31 at 6 p.m.

Instead of going through downtown Clemson, this year’s parade will begin on Centennial Boulevard adjacent to the northeast side of Littlejohn Coliseum.

From there, the parade will turn left onto the Avenue of Champions and then right onto Williamson Road. The parade will finish on Williamson Road after passing the eastside of Memorial Stadium where it meets Palmetto Boulevard.
Officials say that the route change is a result of ongoing construction on Highway 93.

Cars parked in the C-9, C-7 and E-4 lots and along South Palmetto Boulevard, Williamson Road, Ravenel Road and Centennial Boulevard should be moved before 5 p.m., according to university officials. They say these areas will have limited access beginning at 5 p.m. the day of the parade.
