When you wake up in the morning, what’s the first thing you say to yourself? For many it is: where is the coffee or what’s for breakfast. Both of these questions are crucial in deciding if you should even try to get up and face the world today. Luckily, sleep is like a time machine that takes me to breakfast, and breakfast time takes me to Sunnyside Café.
There has never been a sadness that cannot be cured by breakfast food. So, Sunnyside Café in Clemson is perfection.
Not only is the food fantastic, but it is all local so you don’t have to feel bad about eating something processed. From the eggs to the grits to the jellies and apple butter, everything is from South Carolina. Some are even from our backyards of Anderson and Pendleton. Sunnyside Café supports local suppliers to give their customers a cleaner environment, healthier economy, and more nutritious foods. What more could you ask for? You can feel good about where your food is coming from and be happy because it tastes so great.
This wonderful café has friendly service, and honestly I need a smiling face at 7 in the morning (even 11 in the morning) to tell me that today is going to be a good, productive day. On Mondays through Fridays, they are open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays they open 30 minutes later at 7:30 a.m.
Sunnyside Café has reasonable prices for their high quality menu. Even if you are on a budget, you can still find something delicious and affordable in your price range.
Unfortunately, there was not enough room for me to sit outside when I went here, but the outside patio would be a great place to eat and people watch since the weather has been sunny at 75 degrees.
There is also a benefit to having a breakfast date with your beau. Getting asked to go out for breakfast or lunch is cuter than dinner because they’re willing to wake up early or spend the day with you.
Not only will your adorable bae wake up early to go eat eggs and sausage biscuits with you, but he will also pay for your stomach to be overjoyed with delicious breakfast food.
Never forget the coffee, guys. Coffee is the key to anyone’s heart, especially if you have cream and sugar because as my motto goes, good days start with coffee and a kiss.
Plus, there is this amazing thing called takeout. Simply call (864)-653-9532 and tell them what you want, and it will be ready in 15 minutes for you to take home and love unconditionally in your bed made for one.
I’m a simple woman. I like Grey’s Anatomy and breakfast food. What more could you need in life? I couldn’t think of anything else that would make me as happy as when I’m watching reruns of McDreamy swooning Meredith or when I’m eating an egg, cheese and sausage at the lovely Sunnyside Café. So keep your mornings full of happiness and great food, and always have your eggs sunny side up!
