A chemical spill was reported in the basement of Sirrine Hall via CUSafety this morning, Feb. 10. The University haz-mat team arrived on site to conduct clean up. Students are currently advised to avoid the area.
According to Boyce Woolbright of Maintenance Services, the chemical is non-hazardous. However, direct contact can cause headaches and dizziness. The closing of the building was due to “extreme caution” taken by CUFD.
All classes in Sirrine are cancelled for the remainder of the day.
No injuries have been reported.
