    Blackshire-Burgess vs. Joey and Nicki

If you’ve been reading the Tiger recently, hopefully you’ve noticed that we’re trying to inform the student body that Clemson Undergraduate Student Government (CUSG) is important and has a very real impact on various facets of the Clemson experience including academics (what we’re all here for), transportation (how we all get here), on-campus initiatives, opportunities, and improvements (why we all stay here), and much more. That being said, it’s equally important that you vote for the new leadership of CUSG next month!
On March 2, 2016, voting will open for the President/Vice President tickets for CUSG using online ballots; the voting period will last 48 hours and will be extended 24 hours in the case of a runoff vote. Presidential hopefuls Emily Blackshire – Health and Human Services Committee Chairwoman of CUSG Senate – and Joey Wilson – Transportation and Facilities Committee Chairman – are running with their respective VP counterparts Hunter Burgess and Nicki Seidman.
The Blackshire-Burgess (BB) campaign is focused on three areas: sustainability, advancement, and inclusive excellence; the Joey and Nicki campaign is focused on four areas: wellness and safety, student life, academics, and transparency. To learn about the candidates and to see their extended campaign platforms, visit their websites (links founds below). I shall say that the Joey and Nicki campaign has a much longer and more detailed campaign platform; whether that is due to their having a more extensive plan or simply more plans having been divulged/included on their website – which would be appropriate given their focus on transparency – is uncertain.
Regardless of who you want to vote for, VOTE! And don’t just vote for CUSG President/Vice President, go out and vote this November for the next President of the United States, state representatives and senators!
