ACC Power Rankings Week 9

There were only four games on the ACC slate last week, but they all were rife with divisional race implications. The home stretch of the regular season is nearly here, and the ACC is still highly competitive, which has been making for exciting football games.
1. Clemson Tigers: 7-0 (4-0) 0
The Tigers’ bye week allowed them to prepare for what should be an epic clash with Florida State in Tallahassee this weekend.
2. Louisville Cardinals: 6-1 (4-1) 0
The Cardinals walloped a flat Wolfpack squad, with quarterback Lamar Jackson showcasing yet again why he is a Heisman frontrunner.
3. Florida State Seminoles 5-2 (2-2) 0
Like Clemson, FSU had a Week 8 bye leading up to the big game.
4. Pittsburgh Panthers: 5-2 (2-1) 0
The Panthers were on a bye this past week. Pitt will be tested in the latter half of the regular season.
5. Virginia Tech Hokies: 5-2 (3-1) 0
Virginia Tech beat Miami handily over the weekend and currently controls its own destiny in the ACC Coastal Division.
6. North Carolina Tar Heels: 6-2 (4-1) 0
UNC crushed Virginia on Saturday and appears to be getting back on track offensively.
7. Miami Hurricanes: 4-3 (1-3) 0
Miami is rapidly dissipating. It seems that the ‘Canes were severely overrated in the early portion of the season.
8. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets: 4-3 (1-3) 0
The Rambling Wreck received a bye week. Their ACC title game hopes are all but
gone at this point.
9. North Carolina State Wolfpack: 4-3 (1-2) 0
NC State looked understandably deflated on Saturday, a mere week removed from its sickening loss to Clemson.
10. Wake Forest Demon Deacons: 5-2 (2-2) 0
The Deacs were on a bye. They continue to surprise this season.
11. Syracuse Orange: 4-4 (2-2) 0
The Orange earned an impressive road victory over the Eagles last weekend. Syracuse has won two big games in a row and appears to be on the fast track to becoming relevant again.
12. Virginia Cavaliers: 2-5 (1-2) +1
Virginia was crushed by UNC at home, but this is a rebuilding year for the Cavs.
13. Duke Blue Devils: 3-4 (0-3) +1
Duke has done fairly well, considering the bevy of injuries that it has faced, but is still one of the ACC’s bottom feeders.
14. Boston College Eagles: 3-4 (0-4) -2
Boston College dropped a home game to Syracuse and is in the midst of another woeful season.
