The Tiger has confirmed reports that a shooting incident occurred at the Cottages of Clemson on August 27 after speaking with both the Pickens County Police Department and the staff at The Cottages. The Cottages are off-campus student apartments located off of Smoke Rise Dr. in Central, S C.

According to an anonymous source, one person was injured during the incident.

“It was angled right to where it just broke his jaw and knocked some teeth out.” the source added.

“[The victim] is one of the most kind hearted and genuine friends anyone could have. What happened last night was devastating to so many people, but God was definitely looking out for him. Prayers for him as he recovers are greatly appreciated.” said Aubrey Wood, who is friends with the victim.

The Pickens County Sheriffs Department is investigating this incident. We will continue to update this story online and on social media as it develops.
