The Clemson women’s soccer team celebrates against Florida State on Oct. 1, 2021.

Clemson women’s soccer spring schedule was released on Feb. 8 and there are several enticing matchups, with one in particular taking the crown for the toughest.
Clemson will face Auburn in Atlanta, Ga. on Saturday, Feb. 26 to kick off the season. Then, they will play NC Courage, a member of the National Women’s Soccer League, in Cary, North Carolina on March 12.
For the Tigers’ home opener, they play Wake Forest, the only ACC opponent Clemson will play in the spring. They will then go back on the road to face Tennessee and Georgia in April to finish the spring schedule.
Clemson, Auburn, Wake Forest and Tennessee all made the NCAA tournament this past fall, with Clemson suffering a first-round loss and Tennessee making it the furthest out of the four.
Tennessee will likely present the biggest challenge for the Tigers. The game will be on April 9 at 1 p.m.
The Volunteers are the reigning SEC East Divisional champions as well as the reigning SEC Tournament champions.
They also retain 10 starters from last season and brought in the sixth-best recruiting class of 2022, according to Tennessee Athletics
Clemson went 5-4 in away games last season, so the away matchup with Tennessee could prove difficult.
Arguably, Clemson’s most notable loss is goalkeeper Hensley Hancuff, who was drafted 34th overall by New Jersey/New York Gotham FC. Clemson was 11-5-1 with Hancuff starting and will look for sophomore Halle Mackiewicz to prove herself as a starter against Tennessee and in the other spring games.
