With football season back in full swing, Clemson’s first home game was preceded by the annual First Friday Parade. Starting at 6 p.m. outside The Hub at Douthit, the parade ran through Highway 93 with Clemson fans cheering on either side.
Each year the First Friday Parade follows a theme set by Central Spirit’s First Friday Director. This year’s theme was “These Hills are Where We Build Success,” playing off of the common Clemson saying, “There’s something in these Hills.”
Featured in the parade were a number of sororities roaring for their chapters, as well as the various heralds of school spirit such as Tiger Band, the Rally Cats, Tiger Guard and Central Spirit.
President Jim Clements and First Lady Beth Clements showed out to greet their community, followed by Vice President and Dean of Student Affairs Chris Miller, and later on Clemson Alumni Association President Jeff Duckworth.
The event was an excellent display of school spirit before the season’s first home football game, where the Tigers would go on to win against Furman 35 to 12.
