The Clemson volleyball team meets in a huddle before the Tigers took on Lousiana Tech on Aug. 27, 2022.

In a back-and-forth match, Clemson ultimately took down South Carolina on Tuesday, giving the Tigers their fifth win of the season.

In the 3-2 win, the first set the tone for the entire match, with Clemson narrowly winning it 25-22, as well as the third set 25-23.  However, South Carolina won both the second and fourth sets, 25-22 and 25-21, respectively.

Thus, the game came down to the final set, where Clemson won 15-8, winning the match.

Both teams were impressive throughout the entire match. For Clemson, junior right side/outside hitter Camryn Hannah had a total of 24 kills, which marked the second match of the season with greater than 20 kills and gave her a team-leading 103 kills on the season.

In addition, sophomore defensive specialist/libero Devan Taylor had a season-high 28 digs.

Tuesday’s victory marks the first time Clemson has defeated South Carolina since 2014.

Following this game and Friday’s win over UofC-Upstate, Clemson volleyball currently has a 5-2 record and is eighth in the ACC standings.

The Tigers’ next game will be against South Carolina Upstate on Sept. 9, as well as playing East Tennessee State University on Friday as well as a part of the Buccaneer Classic.
