Everything to know about College GameDay’s appearance at Clemson

ESPN’s College GameDay is returning to Clemson University this week for the heavily anticipated matchup between No. 5 Clemson and No. 10 NC State.
The famous pregame show will be held on Bowman Field from 9 a.m. EDT to noon on Saturday, barring any last-minute changes, according to Clemson Athletics.
The pit area will open to fans at 6:30 a.m. EDT, but fans can line up earlier.
“It’s really exciting,” Clemson tight end Davis Allen said. “It might be the first true College GameDay experience I’ve had here at Clemson…Personally, I think it’s going to be really good. I think we’ll feed off of the energy Saturday night, and I look forward to it.”
Allen alluded to that no players on Clemson’s current roster were a part of the Tigers’ roster in 2016 when GameDay was last held on Bowman Field with a large crowd. The pregame show was in Memorial Stadium in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, when the Tigers defeated Miami, 42-17.
On Sunday night, the National Hurricane Center announced that a tropical storm turned into a hurricane that goes by the name of Hurricane Ian. Since then, Hurricane Ian has been upgraded to category three, with the potential to reach category four.
Despite Hurricane Ian cutting through Tampa, Fla., its path may put a hitch in the normal GameDay plans at Clemson.
That said, before Dabo Swinney’s Tuesday press conference, a Clemson official said Clemson is monitoring the weather situation, but there are no changes to announce regarding College GameDay or the game itself.
This week’s appearance will be the eighth time Clemson has hosted GameDay, dating back to the Tigers’ 2006 matchup against Georgia Tech.
