Imagine this: you’re walking down Fort Hill Street and you see a giant statue of a tiger. This isn’t just any statue; this is one you created and designed in order to leave your mark on Clemson. This is the type of opportunity participating in Capital Improvement could give you.
But what is Capital Improvement? This is where students have the chance to create projects that will leave a tangible impact on Clemson’s campus. They will present them to Clemson University Undergraduate Student Senate. The Senate will take a night to review and debate each project before dividing up the available money. Capital Improvement is allotted at least $50,000 for projects. This gives you a real insight into CUSG and Clemson in general. Anyone at any stage in their Clemson Education is encouraged to apply! Some of the past projects include the anatomy bones at the library, Makerspace, the veteran’s memorial in front of Tillman and more. There are so many ways a student can make a difference and you never know- your project could make a huge difference in someone else’s education.
