The Clemson women’s golf team won 3-1-1 in its match against Virginia to clinch the program’s first ACC Championship title in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Sunday.
After defeating Duke by the same score of 3-1-1 in Saturday’s semifinal match, Clemson moved on to the final against Virginia, which had defeated Wake Forest.
Melena Barrientos had the first win for the Tigers, finishing 3 and 2. Chloe Holder followed suit to close 4 and 3. Isabella Rawl secured the final win on the course to lead to the Tigers’ win with a tie on the 18th hole.
Savannah Grewal tied with her Virginia opponent, and Annabelle Pancake took the loss in her match.
The program was established in 2013, marking this championship a decade in the making.
