Three-time Grammy award winner Megan Thee Stallion announced on Thursday, April 1, 2021 that she will be performing a concert at Clemson University. Her visit, meant to celebrate her recent success at the Grammys and the constant construction on Clemson’s campus, will be taking place on April 20, 2021. The concert will take place on the steps of the aptly named William O. and Ann Powers College of Business, or WAP for short.
Thee Stallion also released her setlist, which includes hits like “Body,” “Girls in the Hood” and “Savage.” Though Beyoncé will not be accompanying Thee Stallion for her performance, there are reports that President Jim Clements will be filling in for the iconic Queen B. For Thee Stallion’s finale, she will be performing “WAP.” Clements is confirmed to be fulfilling Cardi B’s parts in the TikTok tune and is “very excited for the opportunities Megan Thee Stallion will bring in her visit to Clemson.”
Meant to be reminiscent of her Grammys performance, the “WAP” finale will feature a giant bed built on the steps of the WAP College of Business. Clements has undergone many intense twerking lessons and has requested the Board of Trustees to accompany Thee Stallion as backup dancers. The Board of Trustees has yet to publicly respond to Clements, and in a truly shocking turn of events, Clemson administration has not answered The Kitten’s request for comment.
Students all across campus are ecstatic for the chance to see Thee Stallion in concert. “She’s going to be the best performer that Clemson has ever seen,” said Chad Cummings, a junior turfgrass major. “Even better than John Mulaney or Kesha!”
Concert attendees will be expected to stand in front of Sikes Hall and on Bowman during the concert. Many questioned whether traffic along Tiger Boulevard will be rerouted for the performance. However, the university stated that because they did not value the arts as much as football, the performers and attendees will simply be expected to dodge cars instead.
Thee Stallion released a statement conveying her disappointment in the traffic situation. She also mentioned some hesitations about performing with Clements in an interview with The Kitten.
“He just seems kind of questionable sometimes,” Thee Stallion said. “I don’t know what’s going on in that shiny, hairless head of his. For all I know, he could be a lizard man in disguise and is plotting world domination. The dude’s hella sketch.”
Catch Thee Stallion’s surely unforgettable performance outside the WAP College of Business on April 20, 2021. Be sure to come prepared with adequate car-dodging equipment and rain boots (in the event of wet ass pavement). Masks and social distancing will presumably be enforced, but you can never really tell with Clemson University. CU there, Tigers!
