Led by PJ Hall and Brevin Galloway, Clemson defeated Duke 72-64 at Littlejohn Coliseum on Saturday night to keep the Tigers in first place in the ACC.
In a back-and-forth game, Hall was the star of the show early on for the Tigers (15-3, 7-0 ACC). The junior forward/center poured in a game-high 26 points, 18 of which came in the first half.
As Hall cooled off in the second half, it was often Brevin Galloway who came through for the Tigers down the stretch. The sixth-year guard scored 12 of his 17 points in the second half, including an and-1 layup that gave Clemson a six-point lead with just 1:57 left in the game.
Shooting 3-for-17 from beyond the arc, the Tigers never quite found their stroke from deep. But while they struggled from 3-point range, they dominated the Blue Devils inside, scoring 42 of their 72 points in the paint.
With the win, Clemson stayed undefeated in ACC play and beat Duke (13-5, 4-3 ACC) for the first time since the 2019-2020 season.
The Tigers will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Wake Forest to take on a hot Demon Deacons team.
