In the Landfall Tradition Tournament from Friday, Oct. 27 to Sunday, Oct. 29, Clemson’s women’s golf team tied for first with a score of 21 under par. Individually, senior Annabella Pancake tied for second at nine under par.
Pancake came into the last day of the tournament eight shots off the lead. Last season, her performance helped her reach a peak ranking of No. 108 in the nation by Golfweek in addition to the All-ACC team. This last round in the Landfall Tradition helped Pancake add to her impressive statistics in the second portion of the season.
Pancake is not the only standout on the squad. Graduate Savannah Grewal finished with a 71.77 stroke average last year, breaking the record for the best in school history. Currently, she is on track to best that mark with a stroke average of 70. In this tournament, she finished tied for 29th with a total score of one under par.
Junior Chloe Holder had quite an impressive performance in the Landfall Tradition Tournament. Although she shot four over par on Friday with a 76, she managed one under on Saturday and a 63 on the final day to grab seventh place. Her nine-under-par score on the final day was also the best-round shot of the Landfall Tradition this year.
Clemson was only one of three schools to have multiple golfers in the top 10 thanks to Pancake and Holder, and the only to have three in the top 15 as sophomore Isabella Rawl finished tied for 15 at three under par.
The Tigers have had a strong start to the season thus far, finishing in the top three in three of their tournaments this year. The reigning ACC Championships will not have another tournament until Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024, at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge.
