Clemson City Police responded to “gunshots off-campus” at a residence on Spencer Street Monday night, according to a CU Alert.

Clemson University sent the alert at 10:16 p.m., warning people to “avoid the area.” When The Tiger arrived at the scene at 10:55 p.m., several police officers were present, entering and exiting the residence. One City of Clemson Police officer declined to give a comment at the scene but told The Tiger that Chief Jorge Campos would provide a statement Tuesday morning.

Multiple police vehicles were on-site. From 10:55 to 11:05 p.m., when The Tiger was at the scene, there was no ambulance present. What appeared to be police tape outlined an area in front of the residence.

This is a developing story. Continue to check thetigercu.com for more information and updates.
