Clemson University has announced that its men’s basketball team will play the East High School Wildcats in a postseason scrimmage. The matchup will showcase a full 40-minute basketball game and many performances during timeouts and at halftime by players from both sides.
Following the success of the Clemson baseball team’s scrimmage with the Savannah Bananas, the school’s athletic director, Grump Nerf, felt it was necessary to showcase the multi-talented players of the school’s other teams.
“The world knows that Clemson has grit on the basketball court, but we now feel it is important to show that we have it on the stage, too,” Nerf said.
One of the acts that has already been announced will showcase a duet between East High star point guard Troy Bolton and Clemson guard Chase Hunker, where they will sing Madonna’s biggest hits. Clemson center Viktor Lakehin will also showcase his vocal abilities, singing The Beatles’ classic hit, “Back in the U.S.S.R.”
Fans, players and coaches alike are all excited for the opportunity to showcase Clemson’s talents on and off the court.
“We pride ourselves on being one of the nation’s most competitive and toughest basketball teams, but everyone has a soft side,” Clemson head coach Burt Brongell stated.
“And who knows, maybe I’ll bust out a song or two like the old times,” he continued.
Disney has announced that it will stream the game live on the Disney Channel and Disney+ to ensure that the fans of both teams can catch all of the action.
