Sofia Chepenik (9) and teammates celebrate after scoring a goal on Duke

The Tigers stunned the world of women’s lacrosse last Saturday when they claimed their first ACC win against previously ranked No. 13 Duke. Since then, the team has received some national recognition and awards.

Goalie Emily Lamparter: National Player of the Week

Lamparter made history as the first Clemson player to win IWLCA player of the week, which is given to eight players each week based on offensive and defensive standout performances in DI, DII, DIII and NAIA.

Against the Blue Devils last week, Lamparter had 11 saves and played the full 60 minutes. She also made 20 saves in the Tigers’ three games last week.

The Sophomore goalie played at the University of Maryland during her freshman year before she transferred to Clemson.

Attacker Sofia Chepenik: ACC Offensive Player of the Week

Chepenik earned co-offensive ACC Player of the Week honors after she had four goals against Duke, including the game-tying and game-winning scores. She totaled eight goals and two assists on the week.
