At the Clemson City Council meeting on March 6, the city discussed converting the on-street public parking at the far end of Sloan Street between Edgewood Avenue and Shorecrest Drive into spaces specially designated for employees of downtown businesses.
These spaces are currently mostly used by students living in nearby apartments.
Employee parking has long been an issue for downtown businesses, particularly during lunch when the time limit is enforced, with many taking the occasional parking ticket as the cost of doing business.
