At the Feb. 6 Clemson City Council meeting, there was a discussion of banning motorized boats from the Mountain View Park boat landing. According to Councilman Bob Brookover, this would be to protect the residential street its on, create a different park experience and support newly city-owned 12-mile park nearby, which is supported by user fees.
Opponents of the idea don’t like not having free access to Lake Hartwell in or near Clemson and don’t see the issue, as Mountain View is lightly used and mostly used by city residents and locals.
