Valentine’s Day is a time to celebrate love. Whether you’re coupled up or celebrating with your friends, there are lots of fun activities around Clemson to get you in the lovey-dovey spirit. Below are some ideas of ways to spend Feb. 14 with the ones you love.
Traditionally, a nice dinner date is always a great idea. A delicious meal is essentially the sixth love language. For a more romantic atmosphere, restaurants such as Pixie & Bill’s, Red Bowl Bistro, Rick Erwin’s and Calhoun Corners Restaurant are great options with varying price ranges.
For those with a sweet tooth, Spill the Beans or Whimsy Cookie Company have yummy dessert options to end the evening.
If you’re feeling outdoorsy, a walk through the nearby South Carolina Botanical Garden or looking over the lake on the dikes is a great way to spend the holiday in nature. Another option within flora and fauna is to take a small hike to Todd Creek Falls and have a picnic on the rocks near the picturesque waterfall.
Other picnic spots include the rowing docks, the Abernathy Waterfront Park, and of course, Bowman Field. To fully romanticize the moment, be sure to go around 5 p.m. to watch Clemson’s colorful sunsets.
Movie buffs can enjoy the re-release of “The Titanic” in local movie theaters, such as Regal Starlight in Anderson, beginning Feb. 9. Soon after, on Feb. 10, “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” is releasing in theaters.
Other fun activities include going bowling at Boulevard Lanes, rollerskating at Skateland USA or axe-throwing at Stump House Axe Throwing. If you’re up for a drive, Greenville is sure to have great Valentine’s Day food, views and shops for all lovebirds such as an Improv Comedy Show at Alchemy Comedy Theater, the Greenville Zoo and art galleries.
No matter how you choose to spend the day, love will be in the air!
