Clemson Athletics has made a change with its gymnastic’s program, parting ways with head coach Amy Smith on Friday, the first head coach in the team’s history.
The team went 11-10 and 6-6 in the ACC in its first two seasons, reaching two NCAA Tournaments. The Tigers won their first ever postseason match this past season, defeating Rutgers in the Tuscaloosa Regional.
Smith was hired in April 2022, spending the last five seasons at Utah State before joining the Tigers. She had previous stints with North Carolina, UCLA, Missouri, Florida and Kentucky throughout her career.
“Clemson will immediately commence a national search for a head coach,” athletic director Graham Neff said.
