Oklahoma staff are on the way to Clemson to finalize a deal with Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables to become the next Oklahoma head coach, as first reported by Chris Low and Bruce Feldman of ESPN.
If the deal is finalized, Venables will take over for former head coach Lincoln Riley, who left Oklahoma to be USC’s head coach.
Venables has been with Clemson since 2012 but was a former defensive coordinator at Oklahoma from 2004-2011.
