The Clemson Tigers brought the ice storm to the court, freezing out Georgia Tech 77-63 for their 12th consecutive road win, tied for the fourth-longest streak in ACC history.
Nick Davidson and Jake Wahlin led the way for the Tigers, 17-4, 7-1 ACC, who recorded 13 points apiece. Wahlin sank three 3-pointers and grabbed eight rebounds.
Despite shooting just 25% from beyond the arc in the first half, Dillon Hunter buried a buzzer-beater 3-pointer to give Clemson a 35-33 lead heading into halftime. Hunter finished with 12 points and five rebounds.
Riding the momentum from Hunter’s buzzer-beater, the Tigers opened the second half with a 19-7 run to push their lead to 14 points. Clemson bounced back offensively, shooting 58.3% from three in the second half.
Clemson found a way to push forward despite 19 points from Georgia Tech’s Kowacie Reeves Jr., one of just two Yellow Jackets to score in double digits.
Although the game featured six ties and 11 lead changes in the first half, Clemson settled down and cruised to its ninth victory by a margin of 10 points or more.
The Tigers return to Littlejohn Coliseum to face Pittsburgh on Jan. 31 at noon.
