Clemson men’s basketball head coach Brad Brownell will return for the 2023-2024 season, Clemson Athletic Director Graham Neff confirmed on Monday.

Despite missing the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season, Brownell will coach the team for his 14th season.

“A great year – 23-10, historic in a lot of ways. Really pleased of what was accomplished and with the team and leadership of the team. Excited to move forward with Brad,” Neff told On3’s Matt Connolly and a select group of reporters Monday. “He and I met this morning for a while. Share the frustration of last night and just think that we’re a tournament team – watch the games, resume. That was the anticipation going into the selection show. For it to come through and us be on the wrong side of it, really, really frustrating.”

Although it didn’t earn the Tigers a bid to the NCAA Tournament, the 2022-2023 season has been historical, as Brownell and the team won a program-record 14 ACC games.

After being named one of the first four out on Selection Sunday, the Tigers will compete in the NIT on Wednesday when they host Morehead State at Littlejohn Coliseum.
