Tiger’s Two Cents: ‘What should I do if one of the classes I need is closed?’

“What should I do if one of the classes I need is closed?” –Anonymous
There is no guarantee that you will be able to get a class that is closed, but there are a couple of ways that you can get a better chance of getting in.
The first thing that I would recommend to you would be to download Coursicle. In this app, you can specify what class, section and professor you want, and it will notify you if any seats open up.
If seats still are not opening up, you can always email the course professor and see if there is anything they can do to help you. In the email, you should let them know your situation and express your need for the course, but be sure to remain polite and respectful. Many times, professors will understand your dilemma and try to help you out.
If all else fails, you can always rely on requesting a closed seat in iRoar, and if enough people do this, there is a chance that they will notice the demand and open up more seats.
