Does Clemson really need another coffee shop? Dutch Bros is soon to be opening on Tiger Boulevard, and the answer is most definitely yes.
Dutch Bros is much more than just a coffee shop. Dutch Bros is known for their featured drinks, such as the “Golden Eagle” and “Caramelizer,” with tons of fun flavor combinations, but its menu doesn’t stop there. If coffee isn’t really your thing, no need to fear. Dutch Bros has matcha, smoothies, chai, energy drinks, protein shakes and more! Their wide-ranging menu will leave you driving away with at least one item in your cup holder.
Dutch Bros will be opening in place of KFC and Long John Silvers. So, its new location will not be in the cluster of fast food chains that holds up the never-ending traffic on Clemson’s most used, or primary, road. Being out of the way — but still in a convenient location — will help students get in and out quickly, on the way to or from class.
Besides just being a delicious morning or mid-afternoon treat, bringing Dutch Bros to Clemson is good for the economy, and after some research, it might be a good place to get a part-time job! According to Glassdoor job postings, employees at Dutch Bros make $15-20 per hour, which, in my opinion, is pretty good for a part-time barista! So if you’re looking for a side gig, they definitely will need some extra hands.
As if it couldn’t get any better, they also give back to their community. Talk about being well-rounded! According to the Dutch Bros official website, Dutch Bros has recently donated more than 1.2 million dollars to support youth initiatives, as well as had their team activity go out to volunteer activities in their communities. They have also recently donated to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief on behalf of the Texas floods this past summer. It is important to many people, especially within the younger demographic, to support businesses that are aware of what is happening in the world and help out those who need it. Dutch Bros is ahead of the game!
Dutch Bros started with two passionate brothers with a pushcart full of espresso, and now has found its way to Clemson, South Carolina. With Dutch Bros staying true to their values, giving back to their communities and providing more job opportunities in this college town, it’s safe to say the residents are getting excited. This addition to our Clemson coffee shops is nothing but a positive addition to our community for a multitude of reasons besides just a fun iced latte.

I used to see Dutch Bros when driving down to SOU where my daughter went to school, they put one in the town we live in and I love Dutch Bros so much better then Starbucks, better selection of drinks & flavors, their pricing is worth for the drink you order.

Not sure it will be easy to get in and out. That part of 123 is often clogged up too. Might have hurt KFC and LJS business enough to contribute to their closures. But I hope it’s great.

I love Dutch Bros. Don’t be afraid of the lines, they have a system and it goes FAST. Closest one to me is 90 miles away but im in that town once a week and that’s the first place I go! It’s amazing how the quality of staff runs thru the whole franchise. I keep bugging them to come closer to me…maybe someday?

There is a new Dutch Bros in our community. I’ve not been there due to the lines. It has been open for at least 3-4 months. I’ll wait till the lines and wait are gone

The lines move fast. Every location I go to I’m out within 5 mins. Try it out.
