South Carolina Midterm Elections are coming up in early November; there are multiple ways that students and community members can vote.

US general elections will be held nationwide on Tuesday, Nov. 8. In this year’s midterm elections 34 Senate seats, along with all 435 House of Representatives positions, will be contested.

Clemson students can register to vote in their home state, or students can register to vote in South Carolina using their college address.

If students opt to vote in their home state, they can request an absentee ballot and vote by mail. If out-of-state students choose to vote in South Carolina, they can register either by mail, in person at a local election office or online.

If students register via mail, the form must be sent by Oct. 11. In-person registration is open until Oct. 7, and online registration closes on Oct. 9.

Clemson Votes is a resource available to students that provides students with advice and guidance regarding voting in local, state and federal elections.

Pickens County offers seven polling locations in the City of Clemson. The closest polling site to Clemson’s campus is located at the University Lutheran Church (111 Sloan St. Clemson, SC). Other voting establishments can be found at Crosspoint Church, East Clemson Baptist Church and Abel Baptist Church, which are all less than 2.5 miles outside Clemson’s campus.

Students can locate their voting location via South Carolina’s voter registration website (scvotes.gov).
