Clemon women’s tennis defeated Georgia Southern 7-0 to start off its double-header on Saturday.
The Tigers kicked off the match, winning all three doubles matches.
On court one, juniors Ali DeSpain and Eleni Louka won 3-2. Likewise, sophomore duo Daniella Medvedeva and Christina Mayorova conquered court two, winning 4-1.
In the final doubles match, Clemson sophomores Sophia Hatton and Samantha Buyckxdominated the third court, winning 6-0.
As for singles, Medvedeva and sophomore Jenna Thompson both won their matches in just two sets, scoring 6-0 in each for a shutout.
Buyckx, DeSpain and Louka concluded with wins in their matches as well.
Mayorova also won in her singles sudden death match 10-7.
Improving their record now to 4-0 for the season, the Tigers are looking to carry on this winning streak.
“We’ve been training very hard,” said freshman Alexandra Anttila. “I think we’re going to have a great season because we’ve been working hard together and we’re all playing great.”
The Tigers’ next home match will be back at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility on Friday, Feb. 4 against Coastal Carolina.
