Tiger Town Tavern, affectionately known as Triple T’s, Triple, or TTT, opened its doors in 1977 and has won Best Bar for the past five years. Cameron Farish, a second-generation owner, as well as his co-owners Dave Thompson and Cason Collins, have asserted a clear goal: making Triple feel like home for the Clemson community.
Tiger Town Tavern has earned its reputation through unbeatable deals and long-standing traditions. Its $2 Pabst Blue Ribbon beers have helped Triple become one of the top three sellers of the beer worldwide, while its Clemson-famous 21st birthday T-shirts serve as a rite of passage for students reaching the legal drinking age. Its iconic logo, a cartoon tiger lounging in a pint of beer, can be spotted throughout Tigertown on T-shirts, stickers, magnets and hats, connecting bar patrons wherever they go. No matter what signature offering you are enjoying, there is plenty more Triple has to offer. And the best part of all: no cover charge.
When you walk in to enjoy Wednesday night trivia or live music on Thursdays, you are greeted with soft lighting, eclectic decor and tributes to the Clemson family and decades of history. Its numerous pool tables and booths make it the perfect place to socialize and catch up with old friends.
If you are looking for a change of pace — perhaps a golf simulator or other game machines — head up to Top of the Tavern; a quieter space exclusive to Triple members and their guests. Members pay a one-time fee of $10 for a lifetime membership, which provides access to a relaxed upstairs bar and additional pool tables on the second level of the establishment.
During COVID-19, the bar’s financial reserves were depleted just to keep the lights on, and eventually, the bar was forced to temporarily close. Clemson locals and students alike rallied behind Triple, purchasing thousands of T-shirts to show support. The owners were deeply moved by the community’s response, and their gratitude continues today.
The Tavern is not just a bar — it’s a Clemson landmark, housed in Clemson’s oldest freestanding building. Visitors can grab a growler to go, enjoy food on the patio from the full-service kitchen or parade around in a birthday shirt.
No matter what kind of day or night you’re looking for, you can find cheap beer, live music and so much more at Triple.
