On Tuesday at around 2:30 p.m., an individual was airlifted in a helicopter from Bowman Field to a nearby hospital.
The person had “experienced a medical event while riding a bike,” Davis Simpson, public information officer for the Clemson University Police Department, told The Tiger in an interview. The event occurred on Edgewood Avenue near Fort Hill Presbyterian Church.
The Clemson University Fire and EMS and Pickens County EMS both responded to the accident and “requested Life Flight,” according to Simpson.
CUPD assisted with securing the field and the road outside of the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business building at the time of the transfer.
